A hang glider is a large bird-like kite that is designed to carry passengers. It has a ridgid structure and is controlled by weight shift. Hang gliding is not to be confused with a paragliding or skydiving which use toggle-steerable parachute style canopies or parasailing which is generally done behind boats over water.
